Allium christophii

Award winning, ornamental Allium, Star of Persia. A bulbous perennial with 25cm spherical heads that contain numerous star-shaped 'metallic' flowers.

After falling in love with the many species of ornamental onions seen throughout the European perennial gardens, I had to have them in our collection. I started growing these 7 years ago and it has taken me all this time to grow a few bulbs on to have some for sale in 2026. A. christophii has proved by far the easiest to grow in our climate however in coming years I intend to have many species available.

A. christophii is shorter than some of the other species but with a much larger head. It's flowers last a very long time

Fabulous dried.

Enjoys a cold climate in full sun and MUST be planted in well-drained soil.
