Phlox subulata ‘Straight Pink’ is a ground-hugging perennial that bursts into bloom with clear, bright pink flowers in early to mid-spring. Its needle-like foliage forms a dense, evergreen mat, making it a reliable option for erosion control, edging, or massing along walls and slopes.

A native of eastern North America, it is well adapted to dry conditions and thrives in full sun with good drainage.

Grows to around 10–15 cm tall and spreads to 50 cm or more.

Growing conditions:

• Full sun

• Prefers well-drained soil

• Frost hardy

• Drought tolerant once established

• NZ flowering period: Early to mid-spring

• Evergreen

Uses:

• Excellent for rockeries, edging, dry slopes, and ground cover
