A softly upright herbaceous perennial, Agrimonia eupatoria produces slender spikes of bright yellow, sweetly scented flowers through summer. Its ferny foliage and medicinal history give it charm in both ornamental and herbal plantings.
Typically reaches 60–100 cm tall, forming a loose clump. Flowers are held on long slender stems above the foliage from mid to late summer.
Growing conditions:
Prefers full sun to part shade
Enjoys well-drained to moderately moist soil
Tolerates drier conditions once established
Hardy in all NZ climates
Uses: traditionally valued as a medicinal herb and pollinator plant.
Can be used as a soft, wildflower-style cut flower, especially in informal arrangements. Allow to self-seed gently for a naturalised effect.
