Erysimum 'Gold Dust' is a compact, sun-loving perennial that bursts into bloom with clusters of rich golden-yellow flowers from early to mid-spring. Its evergreen grey-green foliage forms a tight cushion, making it perfect for edging paths, spilling over walls, or brightening up rock gardens. This wallflower is especially valued for its long flowering period and drought tolerance once established.

Growing just 15–25 cm tall and spreading up to 30 cm, ‘Gold Dust’ thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, especially in gravelly or sandy spots. It dislikes winter wet, so good drainage is essential. Deadheading can help extend flowering and keep plants compact.

Wallflowers like this have a long history in European gardens — the name Erysimum comes from the Greek eryo, meaning "to help or save," referring to its past use in herbal medicine, though it is grown today for sheer ornamental cheer.
