A compact and beautifully floriferous panicle hydrangea, Hydrangea paniculata ‘Bombshell’ delivers a profusion of creamy white, cone-shaped flower clusters that gradually blush to pale pink as they age. Blooming from midsummer through to mid autumn in New Zealand, it offers a refined and long-lasting presence for smaller spaces. Its naturally tidy form and abundance of flowers make it especially well-suited to edging borders, mass planting, or growing in large containers. This dwarf cultivar grows to around 60–90 cm tall and spreads up to 80 cm wide, forming a neat, rounded shrub. Originally from Asia, Hydrangea paniculata is one of the more sun-tolerant hydrangeas and is fully frost hardy in all NZ regions. The showy blooms are held on strong stems that resist flopping even under rain.
