Lychnis sieboldii is a bold and beautiful perennial that lights up the summer garden with vivid red-orange, star-shaped flowers. Blooming through early to mid-summer in New Zealand, these striking blooms rise above soft grey-green foliage, creating contrast and colour in mixed borders or wildflower-style plantings. Native to Asia, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, returning year after year with minimal effort. The flowers are particularly attractive to bees and butterflies, making it an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens.
Grows to around 60–90 cm tall, spreading to about 45 cm.
