Lysimachia ephemerum is a refined and graceful perennial, sending up elegant spires of pale silver-white flowers from late spring through early summer. Each spire is composed of delicate star-shaped blooms that rise above narrow, glaucous green foliage. The architectural form and cool-toned palette make it a natural choice for softening bold planting schemes or adding vertical texture to damp borders. Though understated, its quiet poise draws the eye and harmonises well with grasses and pastel perennials.

Native to parts of southern Europe and western Asia, it thrives in full sun or part shade and favours moist but well-drained soil. In New Zealand, it performs reliably in temperate gardens and can tolerate occasional dry spells once established. Historically, it was admired in European medicinal gardens, though it's now more valued for its ornamental grace.
