Nepeta ‘Walker’s Low’ is a compact, aromatic perennial celebrated for its long-lasting, lavender-blue flower spikes and mint-scented, grey-green foliage. Flowering from late spring into early summer in New Zealand, it’s a magnet for bees and butterflies, bringing life to the garden as well as colour. Despite the name, ‘Walker’s Low’ doesn’t sprawl — it forms a tidy, arching clump that fits easily along borders or paths. Once established, it handles heat and dry spells with ease, making it a dependable choice for low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly planting.
Originally native to parts of Europe and Asia, this Nepeta cultivar has gained popularity worldwide for its resilience, subtle charm, and usefulness in mixed planting schemes.
Typically grows 45–60 cm tall and spreads about 60 cm.
