Salvia 'Waverly' brings graceful height and soft colour to the garden, blooming from late summer through autumn in NZ. This North American-bred hybrid bears slender spires of dusky violet flowers with pale calyxes that give an overall shimmering look. The fragrant green leaves provide lush structure throughout the season. 'Waverly' is especially attractive to bees and butterflies, making it a perfect fit for wildlife-friendly plantings. It is semi-deciduous, often retaining foliage in milder regions but dying back lightly in cooler spots.
This variety is sometimes called “the twilight salvia” for the way its blooms seem to glow in soft light.
Grows to approximately 60–90 cm tall, with a spread of 45–60 cm.
