Sisyrinchium striatum is a graceful clump-forming perennial native to South America, known for its upright fans of grey-green foliage and elegant yellow flowers lightly etched with purple veins. Blooming from late spring into early summer, the starry blooms appear in vertical clusters atop strong stems, adding both height and fine texture to borders, rock gardens, and semi-dry landscapes. The species name striatum refers to the subtle striping on its leaves, which remain attractive throughout the growing season. While it has a refined, architectural look, this plant is remarkably tough — thriving in sunny, well-drained conditions and withstanding moderate frost.
It grows to around 45–60 cm tall, spreading slowly to form tidy clumps.

• Evergreen in mild areas; semi-deciduous in colder zones
