Dicentra formosa

Dicentra formosa, commonly known as Pacific bleeding heart, is a charming woodland perennial that produces graceful sprays of soft pink, heart-shaped flowers above finely divided blue-green foliage from spring well into summer. Native to the moist woodlands of western North America, it forms slowly spreading clumps that bring a soft, natural look to shaded borders and underplantings. The delicate flowers are attractive to pollinators, and the ferny foliage remains handsome for much of the growing season, particularly in cool, moist conditions.
