Echinacea ‘Red Ombre’
$16.90
Out of stock
A compact coneflower producing richly coloured red blooms. that open red before gradually softening through warm and dusky rose tones, often creating several shades on the plant at once. ‘Red Ombre’ was the first F1 hybrid echinacea released as an individual colour from seed, resulting in well-branched, consistently shaped plants with an impressively long display from midsummer into autumn. This very frost-hardy, deciduous perennial carries the tough North American prairie character of echinacea and becomes drought tolerant once established. The strong stems make long-lasting cut flowers, while flowers left standing develop textured seed heads that provide autumn and winter interest. Height 60–85 cm
Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun in fertile, freely draining soil. Avoid persistently wet winter ground. Deadhead to encourage continued flowering or leave late seed heads standing.
Uses
Excellent for sunny borders, prairie-style planting, mass displays, large containers, pollinator gardens and cut flowers.
