Penstemon ‘Arabesque Red’

‘Arabesque Red’ is a compact, floriferous penstemon carrying rich red tubular flowers with contrasting white throats from summer well into autumn. Growing approximately 45–60 cm tall, it flowers readily while still young and attracts bees to the garden. This North American-bred F1 hybrid received an All-America Selections award for its strong garden performance and exceptionally long flowering season. In colder gardens it behaves as a deciduous perennial, dying back during winter before returning in spring.

Growing Conditions
Plant in full sun and ordinary, freely drained soil. It is frost hardy once established and tolerates short dry periods, although occasional deep watering helps sustain its long display. Avoid heavy, permanently wet ground. Removing spent flower stems encourages further blooms.
Uses
Ideal for sunny borders, cottage gardens, pollinator planting, gravel gardens and larger containers. Its compact growth works well through the middle or front of a mixed border.
