Penstemon ‘Arabesque Violet’ is a vivid perennial valued for its tall spires of rich violet, tubular flowers that bloom through mid to late summer in New Zealand. Each floret flares open like a miniature foxglove, creating a vibrant display that’s irresistible to bees and other beneficial pollinators. With its compact growth and consistent flowering, it brings reliable summer colour to borders, especially in warm, sunny spots. Penstemons were once called “beardtongues” for the tiny, fuzzy stamen that protrudes from their flowers.
Bred from North American species, ‘Arabesque Violet’ is both hardy and adaptable, offering ornamental value without demanding care.
