Seed Garlic - Silver Skin - Organically Grown

Silverskin garlic is a classic softneck type valued for its exceptional storage life and dependable bulb production. The bulbs are wrapped in tight, silvery white skins and contain numerous neatly layered cloves. While individual cloves are often smaller than those of hardneck types, they are plentiful and ideal for everyday cooking.

Silverskin garlic matures later than many other varieties and cure beautifully, often storing well through autumn and winter when properly dried. As a softneck garlic it does not produce a flower stalk, allowing the plant to direct its energy into bulb formation and giving it excellent keeping quality.

This garlic group has long been grown in warmer regions.

Growing Conditions

Plant cloves in late autumn to early winter in fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Prefers full sun and consistent moisture through winter and spring, followed by drier conditions as bulbs mature in early to mid summer. Frost hardy.
